Tell me what you think about this video:

this is clipfrom an article i read about meth: http://fayettecountysheriff.com/methamphetamine.htm

The drug works directly on the brain and spinal cord by interfering with normal neurotransmission. Neurotransmitters are chemical substances naturally produced within nerve cells used to communicate with each other and send messages to influence and regulate our thinking and all other systems throughout the body. The main neurotransmitter affected by methamphetamine is dopamine. Dopamine is involved with our natural reward system. For example, feeling good about a job well done, getting pleasure from our family or social interactions, feeling content and that our lives are meaningful and count for something, all rely on dopamine transmission.

A synthetic drug, methamphetamine has a high potential for abuse and dependence. It is illegally produced and sold in pill form, capsules, powder and chunks. Methamphetamine was developed early in this century from its parent drug amphetamine and was originally used in nasal decongestants, bronchial inhalers, and in the treatment of narcolepsy and obesity. In the 1970s methamphetamine became a Schedule II drug - a drug with little medical use and a high potential for abuse.

  1. Interesting topic choice for a blog, but I think it is still an important discussion. Meth might not be the most talked about drug with regards to mainstream use, but it is one of the most close- door abused drugs around. Apparently Pennsylvania is having an especially tough time controlling the selling and use of meth in high school students. I think it is because there is nothing to do in p.a that they kids get lazy and resort to heavy drugs.

  2. Very interesting topic. I was not able to view the video as these computers don't have flash but interesting. I feel as though there is no debate about how bad meth is for you though if that was what the video was arguing. Anything that strips you of you ability to feel happiness is clearly bad for you. Just saying.

  4. Meth is a relatively new drug and it might be the worst. From what i hear its made from cleaning product and it completely ruins your life. Its really bad in rural areas and the youth which is why those ads were made in Montana. Hopefully we can do something to stop this horrible drug.
